Collection Procedures for Hair Evidence

The collection procedures for hair evidence are:

  • Use a clean pair of forceps to collect the evidence
  • Each group of hair should be packaged separately, sealed, and labeled
  • Avoid damaging any hair root samples

Hairs mixed with blood, tissue, or other body fluids should be air-dried and placed in separate envelopes.
