Collection procedures for fingernail scrapings are:
- Use a rounded end of a toothpick to collect the evidence
- A separate toothpick should be used for each hand
- Collect the scrapings (and the toothpick) into a piece of folded paper (use a separate piece for each hand)
- Place the evidence in separate labeled envelopes
